Volunteer firefighters from East Side participated in Whiteside’s annual Trunk or Treat event.
On September 10th, 2017, ESFD firefighters participated in the annual 9/11 memorial stairclimb in Clayton, MO. During these stairclimbs firefighters don their full gear and then climb the equivalent of the 110 floors of the World Trade Center Towers to commemorate the 343 firefighters killed in the attack. This year, East Side raised over $3,000 for the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation.
On September 11 2016, ESFD participated in the 9/11 Memorial Stairclimb held annually in Clayton, MO. This year the department raised over $1.5k for the event, with the proceeds going to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
On 18 April 2014, ESFD members displayed the colors outside Whiteside Middle School.

On May 7 2016, a group of local high school students visited the station on their way to Prom!
On September 11 2016, ESFD members participated in the Belleville Fire Department's dedication ceremony for their new 9/11 Memorial. The memorial features a large peice of steel recovered from Ground Zero of the World Trade Center Towers.
